Light Field photography, powered by plenoptic cameras, recently entered the consumer market, even though the conecpt of gathering these four-dimensional photos was first proposed in 1908. Don't be fooled by the small appearance of these photos, at only 1.2 megapixels they still include information that can lead to a reconstruction of the distance any subject was to the camera. What's the pay off? Look above, re-focus by clicking or shift the perspective around by dragging.

Tilt-Shift photography, has been in use with small form cameras since the 1960s, but has been known since the early days of photography. By tilting the lens with respect to the photographic plane and shifting the lens in front of the shutter, creating a very selective effect on the area of focus.
